TR Mack-Results

Some of my fourth graders have completed their TR Mack projects. I must admit, that in general I was quite disappointed in the results. A lot of the children did not have the patience required to strategically place the circles around their tree branches. There were, of course a few gems in the bunch. These three are my personal favs. These three artists really worked hard to complete their artwork, and took all of my instructions to heart.

At my other school, we voted on the circles and both classes decided that they did not want to add them. So, if you want to see our Artsonia gallery without circles you can click here.

This lesson was a great idea! Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the outcomes. They look nice without the circles too though. Maybe next time you could have the students do a few different sized circles, so they wouldn't have to do so many, or maybe instead of painting them on, have them trace and color them in using solid colors. Just a thought...

Thanks for the ideas. We actually stamped the circles in two different sizes. The larger on was about 1/2" in diameter, and the smaller was a pencil eraser. I thought with stamping it would be quick and look nice and crisp but they just didn't take their time in placing the dots nicely. The pics on the blog are the few that I really like. Most of the don't show such good craftsmanship.
